Christmas Workshops at Acton Court
After the success of last three years’ workshops and requests to put on more this year, we are pleased to offer an extra weekend at this very special venue this year, with a few changes and additions to keep it interesting for our loyal returning guests!
Step back in time with us, get away from the stresses of a modern Christmas, and focus on one of the more simple joys of Christmas preparations – dressing the home with a beautiful, natural Christmas wreath, garland or table decoration that you have created.
We have a range of half day workshops, and one full day, which includes a simple home cooked lunch.
All materials and refreshments are provided.
Friday 6th December 10.00am to 12:30pm or 1.30pm to 4pm Christmas Wreath Workshop £50
This is one of our most popular workshops, and everyone is amazed and delighted with what they create. You will receive step by step guidance on how to make a beautiful, natural Christmas wreath on a mossed base. You will be provided with a range of evergreen foliages, cones, berries, fruits, spices and ribbons to create a unique door wreath that you will be proud to display throughout the festive season!
Saturday 7th December 1.30pm to 4pm Willow door wreath £50
On this workshop you will receive step by step guidance to make a beautiful willow wreath from scratch, using willow and evergreens grown on our organic flower farm. This is a more natural wreath using seed heads, berries, twigs and dried flowers gathered from our cutting gardens . You may choose to decorate it fully or just create a placement and leave a section of the beautiful willow clear.
Sit back and admire your work over a drink and minced pie at the end of the workshop.
Sunday 8th December 10am – 12.30pm Christmas Foliage wreath decorated with natural materials £50
For those who want a change from the traditional decorations of cinnamon and orange, we are offering a chance to decorate your wreath with more rustic materials grown and dried on our flower farm. You will begin in the same way as the traditional wreath, adding a selection of evergreens to a mossed base, but we will provide alternative decorations to make your wreath different from the traditional cinnamon, orange and cones.
Sunday 8th December 1pm to 4pm Christmas foliage Wreath decorated traditionally £50
Description as for Friday 6th December.
Saturday 14th December 10.00am to 4pm Full day Christmas Wreath and Table Decoration Workshop with Lunch included £95

We will break for a warming home cooked lunch and refreshed after this, we will spend the afternoon making a Christmas table centre piece – our first year without using floral foam – in a seasonal decorative container, complete with a candle. If kept cool, this will still be fresh for Christmas day. Relax by a roaring log fire and admire your creations at the end of the day over a glass of mulled wine or prosecco and a mince pie!
Sunday 15th December 10.00 – 12.30pm – table decoration workshop – £50
Is there a more pleasant way to spend a Sunday morning, than creating a unique table decoration for your Christmas table? This year we have made the decision to go floral foam free and wll teach you the mechanics of creating a table decoration in a more traditional and sustainable way.
